So you want to eat the low budget way huh? Believe it or not but having a real home cooked meal is a lot more affordable than you might think. As a busy mom, what do you do when a meal is finished? Do you wash dishes and wrap up the leftovers? Do you actually eat the leftovers, or do they sit in the fridge getting yucky? As a busy mom, you want to make sure you make plenty of frugal meals for your family – and that includes a strategic use of leftovers. With the simple tips in this article you will learn a number of frugal cooking recipes that will help use up leftovers.

One of the problems with leftovers, is that we tend to serve them day after day until they are gone.. Say you prepare a giant roast beef for Sunday dinner – there are plenty of leftovers, but the family will get tired if you keep serving slices of roast beef over and over for the rest of the week. You will have to get creative with your meal planning to keep dishes on the table that your family will actually eat.

You can start by chopping that roast up into bite size pieces. Add in some frozen vegetables, and some instant rice. Cook in a large frying pan or a wok, add in soy sauce and a beaten egg and you have a frugal meal of beef fried rice.

That’s just one way that a leftover roast can be re-used. Don’t forget beef stroganoff, a classic that’s simple to make – just add some cream of mushroom soup, sour cream and egg noodles and you have a classic comfort food dish.

Left over hamburgers don’t need to go to waste – just take them and break them apart – they can become the basis for a traditional spaghetti meat sauce or you can add some taco seasoning and create a meal of tacos or burritos that is sure to be a family crowd pleaser.

Using a little creative thinking can turn any bunch of leftovers into frugal meals that last the whole week. Just take a moment to plan your main “big” meal and then brainstorm 2 or 3 other meals that can be made with it and make sure you have all the ingredients on hand in your pantry.
You’ll be more likely to re-use leftovers if you don’t have to hit the grocery store for last minute items. If you have enough leftover leftovers, you can even freeze this meal and pull it out of the freezer on another night.

By strategically using leftovers you will save time and money. Just watch your grocery bill go down and your free-time increase. You can even use the savings to order in one night – don’t worry – we won’t tell.

For those of you that enjoy cooking around the campfire there are a number of recipes that you can enjoy.Besides the traditional s’mores and hot dogs, there are several delicious and healthy campfire cooking recipes that can be made with a few simple ingredients and equipment.

One of the easiest things to make on a campfire is corn on the cob. The only type of cookware needed for this is tin foil. Simply wrap the corn completely in tin foil and place on hot coals. Of course, there are common precautions one must take in fire cooking as to avoid injury, so having a pair of tongs or other grabbing device will be useful. The corn should cook in just a few minutes, depending on how hot the coals are. After removing from the fire and cooling, sprinkle on some salt and pepper if desired.

There are other campfire cooking recipes that can be made by using cast iron cooking equipment, such as a Dutch oven. A flexible and easy recipe that can be made over a campfire is soup. Especially during the colder months, soup is a perfect food for camping.

There are several different soup recipes that can be made in a Dutch oven. An easy vegetable soup uses potatoes, onions, celery, and carrots. There are endless ingredients that can be added to this simple recipe in order to make it perfect for your tastes.

First fill the Dutch oven about halfway with vegetable or chicken broth. A broth can be made using bullion cubes and water. Take the chopped vegetables and put them into the soup. You may add herbs, such as parsley, to the soup, or sprinkle on salt and pepper to taste. Put the Dutch oven over the fire, and let it sit for at least a half hour.

Once the soup is done, carefully remove the oven from the fire. Be sure to keep the oven, which will still be very hot, away from any flammable objects while it is cooling.

In addition to Dutch ovens, there are many other types of cookware that can come in handy when cooking on a campfire. With a frying pan or a griddle, you can whip up a breakfast better than at home or in a diner.

With some eggs, cheese, and vegetables of your choice, omelets can be quick and easy, even at a campsite. Along with the omelets, the griddle can be used to cook pancakes, bacon, and anything else you can think of!

Whether cooking breakfast, lunch, or dinner, there are endless possible campfire cooking recipes that can be made easily. With the right equipment and ingredients, anyone can enjoy a delicious and tasty meal, even at a campsite!

Eggs are an essential part of our diet and a staple food for some. The doctors too advise that the daily intake of eggs keeps us away from many an ailment. In this day of fast track technology, there have been many changes in the process of chicken rearing which has affected the quality of eggs too.

Earlier only the eggs produced from the farm chickens was in use but over the years the scene has shifted to a more technological poultry practice. This has increased the number of poultry birds and their egg laying capacity but somewhere down the line, the genuineness of the pasture raised chicken eggs gets lost.

There are many people who prefer the organic eggs as compared to the commercial ones which are available in the super markets. Then there are also different varieties of eggs which are graded according to their quality, their freshness and also their size. It has been rightly said in a Russian proverb that “Love and eggs are best when they are fresh.”

There are many cook book writers who have written a lot about this wonderful thing called the Egg. There are many such books available in the open market as well as online stores. Some of these books are targeted at the culinary novices while others aim to please the professionals as well as the routine culinary experts.

These recipes can be used to make some very delicious dishes. These delicacies can be prepared in the egg cookers which are available in the market. This saves both the time and fuel too and is a lot less messy.

Various authors have put up different ideas in their books about cooking eggs. Some of them talk only about the organic eggs, some others about farm fresh and rest others use the commercially produced eggs. According to all these experts, the taste, smell and look of the dish changes with the variety of the eggs used.

One of the most sought after cook books for egg recipes is the Totally Eggs Cookbook which has 47 appetite raising recipes. It is written by Helen Siegel and Karen Gillingham wherein they have suggested some very time saving recipes which can be prepared in minutes. The book includes recipes related to starters, appetizers, salads and soups and also some egg bread and beverages. The book also consists of sweet dishes made from eggs.

All these recipes can be very well used by all those people who are interested in this wonderful thing called the EGG and can make quick recipes by using the various kinds of egg cookers easily available in the market.

Copper has been used for cooking since around 4000 BC, and there are several reasons why it’s popularity has withstood the test of time. It’s the best conductor of heat, especially for top-of-the-range cooking where the food must be cooked at precisely controlled temperatures. This is one reason many of the world’s professional chefs prefer to use copper pots and pans.

Because copper is extremely responsive to temperature changes, it heats up and cools down immediately as you turn the stove dial. It has long been known as one of the best metals to use for making cookware because of it’s high heat conductivity which guarantees that your copper kitchenware will heat evenly all over, without any hot spots.

Copper cookware is lined with another metal, usually tin or steel, to prevent harmful reactions with food, and is easy to clean and maintain. Just hand wash with warm soapy water immediately after use and then dry completely to prevent spots from forming.

It’s beautiful to look at and you can proudly exhibit your copper cookware set in your kitchen. Hang your set from a matching copper pot rack for a truly stunning display.

So although the initial expense might be higher than what you may have been planning on spending, a good quality set will stand up to the daily workout in any kitchen and will last for many years. When you combine its durability with its ability to cook food faster and at an even temperature, copper is the smart and beautiful choice for your kitchen.

There are many kinds of materials in which you can get cooking pots. What you need to know is a little about the different kinds, so that when you go out buying one for yourself, you know which one is the best choice for your kitchen.

A mixture of alloy, nickel, and iron chromium is what gives stainless steel cookware its various properties. Chromium makes sure that stainless steel does not rust easily and lasts for a long time. The nickel also makes sure that it does not rust easily and also is responsible for the shine. At the bottom of the pot, mostly copper and aluminum are used to help in good heat distribution.

You will find that there is a range of stainless kitchenware available in the market. Some of them will be of a low quality whereas others will be of a high quality. It is always a good idea to use a high quality steel cookware since it will perform much better than a lower quality one.

Stainless steel is quite durable and will last for a long time even after years of use. Since it is smooth, hard and non- porous, it does not crack or gets scratched easily. Cleaning it also quite easy and this is why it can keep looking nice for many years.

But this does not mean that stainless steel does not have any disadvantages. It is not good conductor of heat. This is why you will find that they have a coating of copper or aluminum at the bottom of a steel pot. But even then it will not heat up very fast.

Also, if you want a good quality stainless steel pot, you should be ready to pay good money for it.

Besides this, steel does tend to lose color on the outside. Salt water can also damage it. And if you are allergic to nickel, then make sure not to use it since it does contain some amount of this metal.

Cooking pots play an important part in your cookware set. So, choose them carefully. You need to look at the various pros and cons of buying stainless steel cooking pots and then decide whether it is suitable for your own cooking requirements.

The best restaurant in Dubai is Al Muntaha, located at the top of the Burj Al Arab hotel. Yes, it is suspended hundreds of meters above the Arabian Gulf! Imagine the slanted glass windows that give the restaurant the feel of a great ocean liner heading out to sea. Not to speak about the immaculate service they provide: starters like Caesar salad of seared scallops and mains the likes of grilled hammour or roasted prime beef rib with mustard crust. You can even have a delicious Scottish oatmeal ice cream if you miss home! It has been created John Wood, the executive chef.

Another excellent restaurant is La Baie, guided by head chef Carl Stockenstrom. It is more like a major European capital restaurant, for its wonderful piano music, unfaltering service and elegant table settings. The food is of the highest quality, but extremely expensive. Think of marinated sturgeon carpaccio with caviar and yoghurt sauce or grilled hammour on a bed of green lentils as an exotic starter and you will get a fair picture of the prices to expect here.

A French restaurant is always a refreshing location, but it takes a trip out to Jebel Ali. You will be allowed to see the chefs in action as they make up such incredible starter treats as lobster salad with foie gras and seared scallops wrapped in pastry. The main attraction is the sea bass served on a bed of red cabbage and cooked to perfection. Picture yourself eating something like this, while being surrounded by candles…romantic, isn’t it?

The floating restaurant of Al Boom is the leader in fine seafood. A business dinner can always be set on a river cruise , making it a very unique and relaxing experience.
